| | News Release   View printer-friendly version | | << Back | | Millennium Moves Up Ranking Of Top 10 Biopharma Companies In The World By Science Magazine | CAMBRIDGE, Mass., October 1, 2009 – Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company today announced it has been named among the best biopharmaceutical companies in the world, according to Science magazine. Each year the publication administers a survey to determine the top employers in the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and related industries worldwide. In this year’s survey results, Millennium was ranked number 5. This is the third year Millennium has moved up the ranks, from 8 in 2008 and 13 in 2007.
“Our position in the top five of this year’s Science ranking further establishes Millennium’s commitment to its employees, culture and innovative science,” said Stephen Gansler, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Millennium. “This is the third straight year we have moved up the ranks in this important industry guide, and we are committed to maintaining our unique culture as we continue to recruit employees and grow toward global oncology leadership.”
Respondents to the web-based survey were asked to rate companies based on 23 driving characteristics, including financial strength, easy adaptation to change and research-driven environment. The 2009 survey sought to identify the companies with the best reputations as employers based on more than 2,300 survey responses from readers of Science and other respondents in industry. Approximately 23 percent of survey participants came from outside the United States.
